Faze and Optic Take Care of Business to Kick Off Stage 5

Atlanta Faze and Optic Chicago both secured victories on the day, defeating each of their opponents in 3-0 fashion. 

The first match of the day featured Atlanta taking on the London Royal Ravens. Game 1 went the way of Faze after they turned it on late to get the win 250-188 on Checkmate. The Tiny Terror were at it again, with Abezy going 26-17 while Simp dropped almost 6000 damage to lead the game. The Royal Ravens posted negative K/Ds across the board. 

Faze raced out to a 4-1 round count in Game 2 on Standoff before London won three rounds in a row to even the teams at four apiece thanks to outstanding plays out of Afro. Atlanta locked back in however, capturing the last two rounds for a 6-4 victory. Arcitys led the way, going 15-5 for Faze, with Afro putting up a respectable 11-7 in the loss. 

On Garrison Control for Game 3, Faze quickly took a 1-0 lead, winning their first offensive round, with Cellium going 14-3 in about 3 minutes of gameplay. Atlanta held firm on their defensive round to go up 2-0, before London won their defensive round to bring the round count to 2-1. Faze wasted no more time in the game after the round loss, winning the Control 3-1 and completing their 13th sweep of the season, the most in the CDL. Cellium finished with 26 kills to lead the lobby while PaulEhx went 27-20 for his squad, and boasted the most damage in the game. The Royal Ravens were swept for the 9th time this year, the most in the League. 

Optic Chicago and Paris Legion were the featured teams in the second match of the day, starting out on Garrison Hardpoint. Optic took a big lead early, before Legion stormed back to bring it close. Chicago were able to close it out however, winning Map 1, 250-185 with Scump and Formal combining to go 63-42. 

Game 2 on Standoff had the teams trading rounds early before Paris went up 5-4 going into Round 10. Scump was able to clutch a 2v1 and get the bomb defuse to force a Round 11 where Optic got it done to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Dashy led the way with 9 kills and over 2000 damage, pacing the lobby in both categories. 

Chicago won the first round on Raid Control by outslaying Paris, not even needing to capture both points. They then held the line on defense, and outslayed them again in Round 3 to win the game and the series 3-0. Formal dropped 28 kills in the win, with Envoy posting a 23-17 statline. Skrapz went 25-22 in the loss. 

Both Chicago and Atlanta have an off day tomorrow, with Faze taking on Paris in their next matchup on Saturday, July 10th at 3 pm, and Optic playing the Subliners Sunday, July 11th at 6 pm.
